Calvin Rex Eaves

Ratliff City – Funeral Services for Mr. Calvin Rex Eaves, 78, of Ratliff City are scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at the Ratliff City First Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Griffin, Rev. Mike Johnston and Rev. Ricky Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Ratliff City Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Rex was born Nov. 13, 1935 at Ratliff City to the late Mr. Lemuel Glen “Bud” Eaves and Mrs. Martha “Moppie” Elizabeth (Sealy) Eaves. He departed this life Tuesday Dec. 31, 2013 at his home in Ratliff.

Rex was raised in Ratliff City attending school at Woodland. He began a career as a young man in the Oil patch and continued to work in the Oilfield all of his working years. He was the Owner of E&E transport of Ratliff City for many years, hauling Oil and doing Oilfield construction. He and the former Carol Rozzelle were united in marriage on July 18, 1997 at Gainesville, TX. They enjoyed there years together residing initially in Graham and then at Ratliff City.

Rex loved the outdoors and talking on the phone. He was one to always aggravate and he enjoyed his goats and his cows. He was presently attending the First Baptist Church of Ratliff City.

Preceding him in death are his Parents, Bud and Moppie Eaves; Infant Daughter, Pamela Sue; Sisters, Vinita McNeil and Loretta Witcher; Son law Robert Owens and step son Brice Thacker.

Survivors include his wife Carol Lorraine of the home; Son, Danny Eaves and wife Dawn of Oklahoma City; Daughters, Sherry Owens of Tulsa and Brenda Tanner and husband Wendall of Austin, TX; Step Son, Chris Thacker of the home; Brothers, Lloyd Eaves of Arnett, and Jimmy Eaves of Louisiana; Sister, Mary Lou of Norman; 7 Grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; Numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers will be Travis Cantrell, Tyler Cantrell, Clint Eaves, Brandon Sparks, Brian Smith and Louis Mitchell. Honorary Bearer is Chris Thacker.

Family visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home in Ratliff City.
