Ringling – Celebration of Life Services for Bro. Virgil Ellsworth Ridenour, 77, of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, Nov. 24, 2014 at the Church of God Fellowship I.D.O. of Ringling with Bro. Glynn Baker, Bro. Harold Ridenour and Sister Ellen Abshire officiating. Interment will follow at the Petersburg Cemetery south of Ringling. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
Bro. Virgil was born March 3, 1937 at Piqua, OH to the late Mr. Elmer E. Ridenour and Mrs. Dorothy Herron Ridenour. He went to his heavenly home on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014 at the Mercy Hospital in Ardmore.
Bro. Virgil was raised at Houston, OH moving to Wenden, AZ at the age of sixteen. He married the former Linda Lou Taylor on Jan. 22, 1959 at Salome, AZ. They moved to Ringling in 1967. Virgil worked as a truck driver for over 40 years and has been a pastor of the Church of God Fellowship in Ringling for many years.
Preceding him in death were his Parents; Grandson, Phillip Nathaniel Linderman – Jan. 1987; Sister Dorothy Winemiller; Brothers, Tom E. and Gary N. Ridenour and many other in laws and family.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Linda of the home; Daughters, Peggy Sanders and husband Gary of Wilson and Tammy Baker and husband Glynn of Ringling; Sons, Harold Ridenour and wife Trixie and Randy Ridenour and wife Amanda all of Ringling; 14 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren and 1 more Great Grandson on the way; Brother, Ralph Ridenour of Union City, OH; numerous other family, church family and friends.
Casket Bearers are Tyler Baker, Trent Baker, Dakota Ridenour, Mark Howell, Gary Sanders and Juan Jimenez.
Honorary Bearers are Joe Abshire, Clarence Abshire, Deacon Paul Thomas, Rev. Richard Lakey, Deacon Farrow Taylor and Freddie Smith.
Family visitation will be held from 5 to 7pm Sunday evening at the funeral home in Ringling.
