Bonnie Glenn

October 15, 1946 — May 7, 2011

Wilson - Bonnie Glenn, 64 of Sulphur , passed away Saturday, May 7, 2011, at the Mercy Hospital in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson, Oklahoma. Pastor Steve Upson will be officiating. Burial will follow at Hewitt Cemetery . Visitation will be held on Monday, May 16th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home.




Bonnie was born November 15, 1946, in Colorado Springs, Colorado , to Winfrey and Lois (Wheatley) Glenn. Bonnie moved frequently throughout Colorado , Wyoming and Nebraska with her family in her younger years. The family settled in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming in 1956, and there, Bonnie graduated from high school in 1965.




Following graduation, Bonnie attended Graceland College , and later received her B.A. in Fine Arts and M.A. in Psychology from Colorado College . Bonnie enjoyed studying art in college, and created many unusual artifacts, such as Tiki carvings and Totem Poles.




Bonnie enjoyed keeping in touch with old acquaintances she met throughout her life, and often sought out friends that were going through troubling times. She especially enjoyed the company of her cousins, and became very close to them before her passing. Bonnie was an avid writer, and always kept the family in touch with her daily postcards, complete with her signature biblical verses.




Bonnie is survived by her mother, Lois Glenn of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; daughter Suzy Thompson of Sulphur; brothers Gary (and Connie) Glenn of Douglas, Wyoming, John Glenn of Sidney, Nebraska; Grandson Anthony Thompson of Sulphur, Granddaughter Heather Thompson of Sulphur and Great Granddaughter Zoe; and numerous nephews and nieces, cousins and aunts and uncles. Bonnie was preceded in death by her father last December.
