Bobby J Hammons

Ringling - Memorial Services are scheduled for Bobby J. Hammons, 72, Ringling. At 2:00 PM Saturday March 31, 2012 at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Joe Taylor officiating.

Born January 16, 1940, in Orr, to Marcus L. and Notie M. Hammons, he passed away on March 23, 2012, in Carter County.

Bobby and Ella Mae Folsom were married April 18, 1964, in Gainesville, TX. Bobby was an iron worker for many years, traveling throughout Oklahoma and Texas working. In his younger years he enjoyed running trot lines and fishing at Red River. He enjoyed building and working on furniture with his wife. Bobby was a awesome “PaPa” and spent many hours playing ball, building forts and eating chocolate mud pies with the grandkids.

Bobby was an identical twin brother to Billy and they shared a unique and close relationship during their six years of life together. They were inseparable until Billy’s death. They can now share a wonderful heavenly reunion with one another.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings – M. L. Hammons, Jr., Helen R. Lee, Ray W. Hammons, Dave M. Hammons, Juanita E. Wallace, Billy R. Hammons and Rosie M. Richardson; two daughters – Linda Nell and Frieda Reid; one granddaughter – Christy Nell Patty.

He is survived by daughters – Kim Doyle and Shelly Sullivan, Lone Grove; sisters – Kathyleen H. White, Wichita Falls, TX, and Loretta M. Nail, Wills Point, TX; grandchildren – Tifini Phelps, Michelle Moore, Brandon Reid, Amy Lowe, Heath Green, Jason Ragland, Jeremy Nell, Cody Nell, Dillon Sullivan; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ringling Food Bank in care of the Ringling United Methodist Church; P.O. Box 247 Ringling, OK 73456.

Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home and Crematory of Ringling.
