Billy Wayne Hartman

Marietta - Graveside Services for Mr. Billy Wayne Hartman, 71, of Wilson are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 11, 2016 at Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Bill was born on July 13, 1944 at Burneyville to the late Mr. Gayther Brug Hartman and Mrs. Mildred Faye (Hays) Hartman. He departed this life Friday July 8, 2016 at Wilson.

Bill was raised in Burneyville attending school at Turner and Leon, graduating from Leon High School in 1963. After high school, Bill moved to Midland, TX where he worked in the Oilfield as a roughneck. Later he moved back to this area and began a 17 year career with Ratliff Drilling of Duncan as a tool pusher. After his oilfield career, Bill became an over the road truck driver for J.B. Hunt. There he was employed for 29 years and most recently had been awarded his 3 million mile safety award. Bill loved country music and enjoyed his time off being at home riding his tractor. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Preceding him in death are his Parents and siblings, Gayther Hays Hartman, Jackie "Utah" Hartman, G.B. Hartman, Daril Hartman and Leonard Dean Hartman.

Survivors include his wife Freida Sue (Lawson) Hartman of the home; sister in law and brother in law, Vicki Embry and Jim Moore of Thackerville; nephew and niece, Mike and Tori Zinno and baby niece, Zoey Zinno of Yukon; sisters, Joann Watterson of Lone Grove and Rose Miller of Kilgore, TX; brothers, Johnny Hartman of Burneyville and Donal Ray Hartman; numerous other nieces, nephews and other family.
