Healdton - Funeral Services for Mr. Billy Melvin Jeter, 83 of Healdton are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at the Healdton Assembly of God Church with Bro. Quinton Newton and Bro. David Daniel officiating. Interment will follow to Mount Olive Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.

Billy was born April 4, 1937 in Waurika, Ok to the late Mr. William Franklin Jeter an Mrs. Leola (Besherse) Jeter. He departed from this life on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at his home in Healdton.

Billy started school at Willow Springs and was raised at Johnson Corner attending school in Comanche until the 6th grade. He graduated from Loco High School in 1956. Billy married the former Ms. Mae Dell Culver in Loco, OK on April 19, 1957. They moved to Wichita Falls, TX for a short while before moving back to Loco. In the fall of 1961, they moved to Healdton where they have resided most of their life. Billy worked for Fryer Motor Parts and the Chevrolet Dealership before owning and operating his own business, Jeter's Garage for 25 years. He retired from the City of Healdton after 10 years of service. Billy stayed home for a short while before returning to work for the Carter County District #2. Eventually, Billy decided to retire for good in 2016. He enjoy working, tinkering with just about anything. Billy also enjoyed working his cows, being outdoors. But most of all, he enjoyed being around his children and grandchildren. Billy was a member of the Healdton Assembly of God Church.

Preceding him in death are his parents; mother and father in law, Mary and Walter; sister and brother in law, Rose Mary and John Clifton; and brother in law, Jim Culver.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Mae Dell; daughter, Theresa Jackson and husband Danny; twin sons, David Jeter and wife Mary and Darrell Jeter; grandchildren, Ashley Tolbert and husband Robbie, Kayelyn Clubb and husband Jonathan, Misty Jeter, and Darren Jeter and wife Amber; great grandchildren, Jackson Tolbert, Reese Tolbert, Jaceton Clubb, Kase Clubb, Dixie Jeter and J'Dyn Jeter; sister in law, Sharon Culver; nieces, Paulette Taylor and husband Shane and family, Melanie Griffin and husband Terry and family, Kristi Jackson and husband Jeff and family, and Connie Clifton; and by a host of other family and friends.

Casket bearers will be Mark Blakemore, Jonathan Clubb, Mike Blakemore, Robbie Tolbert,Terry Griffin, and Jeff Jackson. Honorary bearers will be Odis Blakemore, Clint Blakemore, Rick Pender, and all former, and present Carter County District #2.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. Tuesday evening at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chisholm Trail Hospice in Duncan or the Healdton Assembly of God Church.
