Billy Don Stinson

Wilson - Funeral Services for Mr. Billy Don Stinson, 74, of Wilson are scheduled for 2: 00 PM Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Rev. Bruce Almy officiating and his Brother, Pat Stinson providing the Eulogy. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta with Military Burial Honors. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Billy was born November 9, 1936 at Greenville, OK to the late Mr. Wesley Lee Stinson and Mrs. Beatrice Ora (Smith) Stinson. He departed this life Friday, December 17, 2010 at Healdton, OK.

Billy was raised at Greenville attending and graduating school from there in 1955. After graduation he worked at several jobs including a seismograph company, driving a truck for Lumberman’s and working at Fraleys Lumberyard in Marietta. He was employed most of his years at Beetle Plastics in Gene Autry, just retiring from there 6 months ago. He also was employed for Carter County District II as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator.

Billy was a veteran of the United States Army serving honorably for 12 years in the transport section. He was honorably discharged for his service March 31, 1969 holding the rank of Sergeant First Class. He and the former Mamie E. LaRoche were united in marriage March 13, 1995 at Waurika. They made their home in Wilson living here since. Billy had a deep affection for all dogs especially his Dash Hounds and he loved bluegrass music. He was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Ardmore.

Preceding him in death are his Parents, and a brother, Mr. Wesley LaVon Stinson- 1999.

Survivors include his wife Mamie E. (Brecheen) Stinson of the home. Daughters, Tammy Dixon and husband Billy of Wayne, and Debbie Jackson and husband Thomas of Wilson. Son, David LaRoche and wife Dale of Lone Grove. Brother, Harold Stinson and wife LaQuita of Ardmore, Twin Brother, Bobby Stinson and wife JoAnne of Falconhead, and Pat Stinson and wife LaJoy of Wapanucka. Sister in law, Jearlene Stinson of Oklahoma City. Grandchildren, Kimberly, Rebekkah, and Tara Dixon; Brian LaRoche, and Desiree LaRoche. Numerous Nieces and Nephews and other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be George Jeong, Thomas Jackson, Matt Smith, Ronald Stinson, Ronnie Stinson, and Billy Dixon.

Honorary Bearers will be Paul Felts, Jason Pool, Barry Stinson, and Kevin Stinson.

Family visitation will be Monday evening from 5-7 pm at Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.

Memorials in memory of Billy may be made to the Ardmore Animal Shelter c/o Alexander Funeral Home 1302 7th St. Wilson, OK 73463.
