Wilson – Funeral Services for Mr. Billy Cyphus White, 77, of Wilson, is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Keith Albin and Rev. Ben Shirley officiating. Interment will follow at the Lone Grove Cemetery in Lone Grove with Military Burial Honors. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Billy was born September 11, 1933 at Knox County, TX to the late Mr. Tom Dock White and Mrs. Thelma Dow (Miller) White. He departed this life Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Ardmore, OK.
Billy was initially raised in Knox County attending school there until the 3rd grade. He and his family then relocated to Lone Grove where Billy attended and later graduated High School in 1953. He was drafted into the United States Army, July 29, 1954. He was stationed at Fairbanks, Alaska and while enlisted, married the former Ms. Ruby Ann Miller at Fairbanks on July 26, 1955. He was honorably discharged from the Army on July 20, 1956. He returned to this area living at Wilson and initially worked in the Oilfield. He also was employed as a Police Officer for the Healdton Police Dept., and was mostly known for owning and operating “Bills Food Mart” at the Wilson Healdton Y for many years. He retired from his store in 1993 and enjoyed his retirement Farming and Ranching. Billy was a member of the Shepherds Chapel in Gravette, AR.
Preceding him in death are his Parents, a Daughter, Debbie – 1969 and Sister, Mary Ashbolt.
Survivors include his loving wife Ruby of the home. Daughter, Lisa Hayes and husband Allen of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia. 2 Sons, Jimmy White and wife Janice and Chris White and wife Samantha, both of Wilson. Sister, Tomey White of Dublin, CA. 2 Brothers, Kenny White and wife Donna and Jerry White and wife Debra, both of Oil City. 6 Grandchildren, Brittany, Ginger, Chase, Joni, Garrett, and Meggan. 2 Great Grandchildren, KC and Cade. Numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ryan White, Lanny White, Deren Epley, Donnie Gaines, Dennis Burch, and Chris Douthit.
Honorary Bearers are Sonny Grissom, John Hatfield, Gary Brewer, Audy Redin, John Thomas, Brad Bute, and Kevin Teafatiller.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday Evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
