Fox – Funeral Services for Mrs. Billie Ruth (Lindesmith) Dunman, 88 longtime resident of Fox are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the Fox Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Mrs. Dunman was born September 20, 1925 at Fox to the late Mr. Basil Leslie and Eary Elizabeth (Boydstun) Lindesmith. She departed this life Friday,January 3, 2014 at Ardmore.
Mrs. Dunman was raised at Fox graduating from high school there in 1943. She and Mr. Marcus Dunman eloped and were united in marriage on Dec. 18, 1943. They initially resided in Duncan and Texas before making Fox their permanent home.
Mrs. Dunman learned the GM method of accounting and soon applied it to a very successful career of bookkeeping and accounting for many business in the area. She was employed among several business of the area including Cecil Fryer,The Healdton Hospital, Oilwell Supply, Hoyle Holt and Ok Pump. She retired from OK pump at the age of 79. She was an excellent cost accountant but was also a wonderful mother, grandmother and housewife.
Mrs. Dunman was very talented. She done some oil paintings and some acrylics and was always very eager to learn new things. At the age of 72 she bought one of the first computers available and soon taught herself how to operate it and surf the web. She loved researching her family genealogy and was certainly a “Renaissance Woman".
Preceding her in death is her Parents; husband Mr. Marcus Dunman – Dec. 6, 1985; Siblings, Carmen Siebenthal, Dessie Forsythe, Maudin Carpenter, Newton Lindesmith, Genettie Goodwin ; Son In law, Dr. Doyle Stewart; Step Great Grandson, Joshua Borderlon.
Survivors include her Daughters, LaBeth Daigre and husband Bill, Marcia Stewart, and Tina Tate and husband Norman all of Edmond; Son Wayne Dunman of Healdton; Brother, Basil Luther Lindesmith and wife Lee of Sand Springs; 13 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren; Numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers are Kent Stewart, Sean Tate, Craig Tate, Charles “Chuck” Tate, Forrest Goodwin and Ty Burton.
Honorary Bearers are Chase Cordum, Matthew Cordum, Cade Burton, Seth Tate, Garrett Stewart, Bronson Grellner and Camron Daigre.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300 Jacksonville, Florida 32256 or the Christian Appalachian Project PO Box 55911Lexington, KY 40555-5911.
Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Monday at the funeral Home in Wilson.
