Healdton – Funeral Services for Mrs. Billie Fae (Walker) Taylor, age 86 of Healdton are scheduled for 10A.M. Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Shell Street Church of Christ in Healdton with Danny Huntsman officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Billie was born on November 21, 1931 in Garr Corner, OK to the late Mr. Tollie Raymond Walker and Mrs. Ruth Louise (May) Walker. She departed this life on November 30, 2017 from a brief illness at Mercy Memorial Health Center in Ardmore.
Billie married Mr. James Monroe Taylor on March 24, 1951 in Lovelady, OK. Together they had two children Mike and Myra. They enjoyed many fun family trips camping and fishing throughout their life.
Mrs. Taylor had previously been employed at Thompson’s Book and Supply in Ada. She worked at Healdton Public Schools from 1972 to 1989 as a teacher’s aide, librarian and reading lab aide. After retiring from the school Billie worked in the office with her son at Taylor’s Office Supply. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking and was a member of the Healdton Bunco Club. Billie was a faithful member of Shell Street Church of Christ and in previous years she served as the President of the Healdton Hospital Auxiliary.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, James Monroe Taylor on April 19, 2003; son, James Michael "Mike" Taylor on February 24, 2016; twin brother, Bennie Rae Walker, and a sister, Margaret Jean (Walker) Cates.
Survivors include her daughter, Myra Singleton and husband Jeff of Healdton; daughter-in-law, Barbara Meador of Davis; grandchildren, Monica Laine Taylor and fiance Jody Gilliand, Nathan Singleton and fiance Alex Valles, and Colton Singleton; great grandchildren, James Wingo, Raegn Wingo, and Reece Weaver; two bonus grandchildren, Amy Torres and Andy Hill and his wife Michelle and their children; special friend and adopted daughter, Connie Smith; and a beloved canine companion, Pepper; Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Serving as Casket Bearers are grandsons, Nathan Singleton, Colton Singleton; great grandson, James Wingo; and nephews, Bruce Cates, Greg Walker, and Roger Cates.
Honorary Bearers are Rusty Turnbull, Lloyd Richardson, and Dr. Mark Newey.
Family visitation will be from 2 to 4 pm Sunday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
