Bettye Lou Lamascus

Healdton - Cremation services for Mrs. Bettye Lou (Lyle) Lamascus, 87, are under care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Healdton.

Bettye was born on Dec. 30, 1933 at Orr to the late Mr. Pearl Andrew Lyle and Mrs. Maude Mae (Davis) Lyle. She departed this life on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021 at Healdton.

Betty was raised at Orr attending school there. She married the late Mr. Vernon Lamascus and they spent the majority of their married lives together residing at Grand Prairie, TX. Betty primarily worked as a cafeteria manager for the Texas Public Education system. Lastly she worked at Zavala Public School, but had been at the Sam Houston Elementary and Bowie Schools. Bettye had moved to Healdton where she enjoyed her retirement years. She always enjoyed watching westerns and was passionate about taking care of animals. She also enjoyed singing in the church choir where she was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Healdton.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Vernon Lamascus; daughter, Teresa Ann Lamascus; siblings, Pauline Lyle, Geneva Wade, Cecil Lyle, William Lyle, Mildred Roberts and Mae Kathleen Apala.

Survivors include son, Evert Ray Lamascus of Cleburne, TX; grandchildren, Eric Bentley, Anna Abualshar, both of Ft. Worth, TX, and Evan Lamascus of Cleburne; brother, Roy Lyle and wife Betty of Healdton; numerous other family and friends.
