Betty Sue Galloway

Velma - Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty "Sue" (Melton) Galloway, 75, of Countyline are scheduled for 10 am Monday Sept. 12, 2016 at the Ratliff City First Baptist Church with Rev. Glynn Baker officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Velma Chapel.

Sue was born July 5, 1941 at Calhoun County, Miss. to the late Mr. Claude and Mrs. Velma Melton.She departed this life on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016 at the Duncan Regional Hospital.

Sue was raised in Mississippi as 1 of 8 children residing on a farm. She married the late Mr. Daniel William Galloway and thereafter they made their home at Perryton, TX following oilfield work. They made their residence in Countyline during the early 1970's and Sue has remained there since.

Sue was the head cook for many years at "Millies Cafe' " of Countyline. She was an excellent cook with a very strong work ethic who also loved to can, pick berries and play Yatzee. She also enjoyed dancing in her younger years and the love of her life were her grandchildren whom she adored and loved spending time with.

Preceding her in death were her Parents; Mr. Claude and Mrs. Velma Melton and a daughter, Debbie Sue Bruce in 2008.

Survivors include her daughters, Judy Kay Daniels and husband Greg of Duncan and Linda McMillen and husband Sam of Ravia; son, Daniel Galloway and wife Lisa of Dallas, TX; son-in-law, Conley Bruce of Velma; brothers, Russell Melton of Mississippi, Wilmer Melton of Texas, J.C. Melton and wife Jeanette of Texas and Robert Melton and wife Pat of Mississippi; sisters, Ann Mulkey and husband Jimmy, Claudine Barnette, and Bessie Allen and husband Vernon, all of Mississippi; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many dear friends.

Casket Bearers are Daniel Galloway, KC Bruce, Conley Bruce, Greg Daniels, Sam McMillen and Jaren Callen.

Family visitation will be held from 4 to 6 pm Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016 at the Alexander Gray Velma Chapel.
