Wilson- Funeral services for Betty (Hollingsworth) Slawson , 74, of Wilson are scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday, February 2, 2015 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. Jason Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Dixie Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Betty (Hollingsworth) Slawson was born June 10, 1940 to Mr. Woodrow Wilson Hollingsworth and Mrs. Edna Faye (Latham) Hollingsworth at Wilson. She passed from this life Friday, January 30, 2015 at her home in Wilson.
Betty was raised at the Jones Camp in Dillard and graduated from Rexroat School in 1958. She lived in Wilson all her life. Betty worked for Wilson schools for 33 years. She was a huge OU , Thunder and race car fan. One of her greatest joys were giving her great grandkids a ride on her golf cart or scooter. She enjoyed watching them play sports. Betty would get a big kick out of getting pulled over by Ryan while out on her scooter or golf cart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Faye Hollingsworth; brother, Wesley; son-in-law, Kelly Wright; one grandson and one great grandson.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Zelda Barbour and husband, Bobby of Springtown, TX, Tammy Lamascus and husband, Ricky of Woodward, OK, Cindy McKibban and husband, Steve of Kingston,OK and Anita Wright and fiancé, Charlie of Wilson; sister, Kaye Idleman of Madill; 10 grandkids Stacy Cavallo and husband Antonio, Kristy Farris and husband Brent, Bobby Barbour and wife Becky, Jason Wright and fiancé Brittnee, Kim Lamascus and husband Noe, Jeremy Barbour, Lacy O’Neal and husband Brandon, Marissa Barbour and fiancé Jason, Brian McKibban and Joyce McKibban; 22 great grandkids; her beloved dog pup pup; numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers are Jeremy Barbour, Jason Wright, Noe Chavez, Antonio Cavallo, Brent Farris and Ryan Parsley.
Honorary Bearers are Bobby Barbour, Brandon O’Neal, Mike Idleman, Brian Idleman and William “B.J.” Cook.
Donations may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice at 207 C Street NW Ardmore, OK 73401 in honor of Betty .
Family Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5-7 PM at the Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
