Betty was born July 2, 1943 at Ringling to the late Mr. Truman Dollfus “T.D.” Branch and Mrs. Birtie Agnes (Baker) Branch. She departed this life Thursday October 4, 2012 at her home in Loco.
Betty was raised in Loco and attended school at Mountain Home and the Ringling. She married Mr. Tommy Jr. Apala on August 6, 1959 at Gainesville, TX. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1965. She later married Mr. Stanley Lach, Jr. August 31, 1966 at Lawton. They resided mostly in Loco and, Betty was employed in the healthcare industry most recently for Ideal Home Care of Healdton. She was known as MeMe to her grandchildren and loved spending time with all of her family. Every Sunday she enjoyed cooking “Sunday Dinner” for all of her family. She passed on her cooking abilities to her grandchildren by providing cooking lessons and loved to craft things out of wood for all of them. She made rocking chairs, Beds, lawn ornaments and all kinds of other furniture for them to enjoy. She was originally a member of the Center Point Baptist Church but proclaimed the First Baptist Church of Ringling as her home Church.
In addition to her 1st Husband Tommy, also preceding her in death are her Parents, Mr. T.D. and Mrs. Birtie (Baker) Branch; Son, Michael Ray Apala – Nov. 7, 1986 and Brother, Truman Branch.
Survivors include her Husband, Mr. Stanley Lach, Jr. of the home; Daughters, Becky Adams of Wilson, and Penny Treadwell of Healdton; Sons, Tony Apala and wife Staci and Orry Lach and wife Allison , both of Loco; Brother, Tom Branch and wife Betty Lou of Pauls Valley; 10 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren. Numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers are Nathan Dorsey, John Way, Joe Blackwell, Kelby Loring, Robby Stockton, Patrick Tarrant and Mark Treadwell.
Honorary Bearers are Weston Adams, Devon Treadwell, Randy Apala and Tommy Apala.
Special thanks to Cross Timbers Hospice and Ideal Home Care for all heartfelt care and support during Betty’s illness.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
