Services for Betty Joyce (Brown) Botts, 90, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at the Living Word Tabernacle Church in Ratliff City with Eugene Christian officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ratliff City.
Betty was born February 3, 1933, at El Reno, OK, to the late Mr. Hugh Isaac Brown and Mrs. Alice Wheatley (Wood) Brown. She departed this life Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Oklahoma City.
Betty was raised in El Reno, OK, attending school there. At just 9 years of age, she worked in a tomato factory while living with her aunt in Arkansas. Betty was married to Mr. Doyle Nail when she was 15 and to this union, they were blessed with 4 children, Thelma, Jimmy, Donnie, and Shelia. She later married Mr. Benjamin Botts and gained 3 more children, Tammy, Cindy, and Jeff. Betty worked most of her years of employment as a waitress and a cook. She was very crafty in making plastic canvas art and loved going to the lake, camping, and most of all she loved to fish. Betty was a fighter, tough, and very strong willed.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Hugh and Alice; children, Thelma Jackson and Donnie Nail; stepdaughter, Cindy Evans; siblings, Elizabeth Brandt, Hugh Isaac Brown, Jr., Leatrice Vargas, Alice Phillips, Harry Brown, Tommy Brown, and Gary Brown.
Survivors include her children, Jimmy Nail of El Reno, OK and Shelia Porter of Hobart, OK; stepchildren, Tammy Christian and husband Eugene of Ratliff City and Jeff Botts and his wife, Olga of Porter, TX; siblings, Thelma Grace of Van Buren, MO, Mary McComber of Duncan, OK, and Loretta Posey of Enid, OK; 24 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, other family, and many friends.
