Betty Evone Forsythe-Taylor

Wilson - Graveside Services for Mrs. Betty Evone Forsythe-Taylor, 88 of Wilson are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 18, 2021 at Hewitt Cemetery with Rev. Waylon Dancer officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Betty was born August 3, 1932 in Oklahoma City, OK to the late Mr. B.R. Taylor and Mrs. Dorothea Alice (Brown) Taylor. She departed from this life on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at her home in Wilson, OK.

Betty married Mr. Jim L. Forsythe on December 22, 1951 in Oklahoma City moving to this area in 1971. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1982. She later married Mr. Dearl Taylor on December 27, 1982 in Ardmore. He also preceded her in death on March 17, 2016. Betty worked as a beautician most of all her life and she worked for the City of Wilson as a clerk in the 1970's. She enjoyed oil painting, cooking, cross stitching, canning vegetables that Dearl grew and woodworking with Dearl. Betty was a member of Wilson First United Methodist Church and one of her favorite things was singing church and witnessing for the Lord.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, Jim Forsythe and Dearl Taylor; grandson, Ariel Dodson; granddaughter, Erica Rawley; brother and sister in law, Bob and June Taylor; son in law, Kenny Shores; and daughter and son in law, Sharon and Bob Orr.

Betty is survived by her children, Ken and wife Jane Forsythe of Lebanon, TN, Ron and wife Ann Forsythe of Sanger, TX, Connie Forsythe and Daisy Dog of Wilson, Elaine and husband Keith of Farmington, AR, Debbie Shores of Poolville, OK, Trent and wife Merry Taylor of Wilson, Laurie and husband Roger Taylor of Wilson, and bonus daughter, Tina Beyers of Bethany, OK; brother, Larry Taylor and wife Barbara of Comanche, OK; 12 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren; and by a host of other family and friends.

The family would like to give a special thank you for the love and care given by Team 4 at Cross Timbers Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Cross Timbers Hospice or the Wilson First United Methodist Church.
