Betty Dean Dewbre

Zaneis - Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty Dean (Lockwood) Dewbre, 86, of Zaneis are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 at the Zaneis Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Shirley officiating and Rev. Spence McConnell assisting. Interment will follow at Bomar Point Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Betty was born May 10, 1931 at Reck to the late Mr. George William Lockwood and Mrs. Myrtle Marie (Kincheloe) Lockwood. She departed this life Wed. Nov. 8, 2017 at the Wilson Nursing Home.

Betty was raised in Zaneis residing there most of her life. She married Lester Horace Dewbre and to this union they were blessed with five children. Betty worked as a CNA outside her home at most of the local nursing homes and lastly at Ardmore Memorial Hospital.

Horace preceded her in death on November 7, 1981. Betty was a great cook who loved to garden. She also loved to pick up pecans and enjoyed sewing and playing dominoes. She was a longtime member of the Zaneis Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband also preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers, Billy, Jerry, Larry and Mike Lockwood.

Survivors include her daughter, Melanie Meloy and husband Mickey of Wilson; sons, Bob Dewbre and wife Sue of Graham, Gary Dewbre and wife Lana of Chickasha, Jack Dewbre and wife Grynna of Wilson and Jim Dewbre and wife Jill of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Louise Pickens of Ardmore and Shirley Byington and husband Joe of Cushing; 8 grandchildren, Tim Miller and wife Shey, Jeff Miller, Keri Surber and husband Patrick, Chad Dewbre and wife Dr. Jacquelin Dewbre, Jill Hunt and husband Billy, Jordan Dewbre, Brian Meloy and Beckie Spradling and husband Tommy; 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers will be Tommy Spradling, Brian Meloy, Patrick Surber, Chad Dewbre, Billy Hunt and Jordan Dewbre.

Family visitation will be held 6 to 8 pm Friday evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
