Betty Bell Dickey

Ringling - Memorial Services for Betty Bell Dickey, 85, long time resident of the Claypool Community are scheduled for 1:00 Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Ringling United Methodist Church with Jeremy Beaver officiating and Hollye Beaver eulogizing. A private interment was held at the Waurika Cemetery of Waurika. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Betty Bell Dickey was Born April 4, 1929 in Loco, Oklahoma to Mr. Ezra Byron Randolph and Mrs. Lena Rivers (Bell) Randolph. She died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in McAlester, Oklahoma at the home of her daughter, Hollye and Jerry Beaver.

Betty graduated from Ringling High School in 1947 and furthered her education on a full scholarship in vocal music at Oklahoma Baptist University.

On June 27, 1948 Betty married Hollis Dickey , the love of her life, and they enjoyed 54 years of marriage. They made their home at the family ranch in Claypool, a small community between Ringling and Waurika, OK.

She was a ranch bookkeeper at the family ranching business for 60 years. She and Hollis attended Claypool Community Church, founded in 1936 by Hollis’s parents, S.E. and Molly Dickey, until it discontinued services.

Betty and Hollis were then active members of the Ringling United Methodist Church for many years.

She was active in the Claypool Home Extension Club for over 65 years. Betty enjoyed reading and music throughout her life. She entered many blue ribbon exhibits in the Jefferson County Fair and her family , friends and the community enjoyed her cooking throughout the years. Most of all Betty was a devoted wife and homemaker. She was a caring and loving mother and grandmother who took great pride in all their accomplishments.

Betty was preceded in death by her Parents, Ezra and Lena Randolph; Husband, Hollis Dickey; Brother, Walter Randolph; Sisters, Dorothy Randolph and Amber Chambers.

She is survived by her Daughters, Hollye Beth Beaver and husband Jerry of McAlester and Linda Carroll Powell and husband Steve of Lawton; Four Grandchildren, Jeremy Beaver and wife Christi of McAlester. Heather Beaver of Antlers, Sarah Miller and husband, Alex of Kansas City and Blakely Page and husband Tom of Kansas City; Eight Great Grandchildren, Jackson, Preston and Ella Beaver , Nate and Sadie Winter, Adeline and George Miller and Nora Page; Sister, Mary Merritt of Andrews, Texas; Sister in law, Arlene Randolph of Andrews, Texas; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Family , Friends and loving caregiver Freda Folsom.

The family extends a special thank you to Cross Timbers Hospice of Ardmore and Heartland Hospice of McAlester for the love and compassion extended to Betty and her family.
