Bertha "Bert" Lee Morgan

Lone Grove - Funeral Services for Mrs. Bertha "Bert" Lee (Romines) Morgan, 86 of Lone Grove are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Cheek Baptist Church with Rev. David Gardner officiating.  Interment will follow to Morgan Rest Cemetery in Love County, OK.  Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson. 


Bert was born August 13, 1937 in Love County, OK to the late Mr. Rose Barry Romines and Mrs. Frannie Lee (Strickland) Romines.  She departed from this life on Thursday, July 4, 2024 in Oklahoma City, OK.


Bert was raised in Love County attending school in Courtney Flatts.  She married the love of her life, Jerry Ray Morgan on March 28, 1962 in Love County.  Bert was a hard worker, working alongside her family on the farm.  She worked at the English Village Cafe as a waitress, at the Marietta Pants Factory, and lastly at Michelin Tire Plant for 25 years where she retired.  One of the hardest jobs she did, was working with Jerry on the farm where she did 90% of the work!!  Bert loved her family especially the grandchildren, she enjoyed flowers, collecting what nots and was a people person.  Bert was a member of the Cheek Baptist Church, where she was involved in teaching Sunday school and helping with the bereavement committee, always willing to help the families. 


Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, R.B., Junior Leon, and John Leroy Romines; sisters, Betty Wolfe, Mattie Dewbre, and Peggy Williams; daughter, Jeannie Leigh Poplin; and a son, Johnny Travis Morgan. 


Bert is survived by her husband Jerry of 63 years; sons, Ray and Sarah Morgan, and James and Tammy Morgan; daughter, Ruthie Morgan; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; a special great granddaughter, Summer who was always there to help be by Bert and Jerry; and by a host of other family and friends. 


Pallbearers will be Anthony Roe, Johnny Dewbre, Bill Dewbre, David Wolfe, Jim Gillaspy, and James Bullard.  Honorary pallbearers will be all her grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren. 


Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5-7 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
