Bert M. Roberts

Ringling- Graveside Services for Mr. Bert M. Roberts, 68, of Ringling is scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery in Ringling with Bro. John Blankenship officiating. Military Burial Honors will be performed by the United States Army of Ft. Sill. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Bert was born January 6, 1944 at Graham, TX to the late Mr. Earl Roberts, Sr. and Mrs. Lonnie Fern (Cox) Roberts. He departed this life Wednesday evening, March 14, 2012 at the Ardmore Veterans Home.

Bert was raised in Orr and Ringling graduating High School from Ringling before attending college at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant for 1 year. Bert then joined the United States Army where he was an Aircraft mechanic working mainly on helicopters. He served honorably for 2 years in Germany during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged February 16, 1967. He returned to Ringling and worked in the Oilfield as a welder and roughneck. He also worked as Iron worker for many years.

Bert loved fishing and loved college Football, especially OSU and OU. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ringling.

Preceding him in death is his Parents; Half Brother –Flaye and Half Sister – Betty; and Sister In Law Linda.

Survivors include his Daughter, Shelby Lynn of Tulsa; Brothers, Earl Roberts, Jr. and wife Rhonda of Sulphur and Audie Roberts of Ringling; Nephews, Ben Roberts, Brian Roberts, Kevin Roberts and Kip Lyons. Numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Steve Howard, Jim Howard, T.J. Neble, Mack Paul, Sam Beams, and Dennis Hawkins.

Honorary Bearers are Ben Roberts, Hunter Roberts, Andrew Roberts, Brian Roberts, Briar Roberts, Keegan Roberts, Kody Roberts, Jordan Roberts, Jessica Burris Roberts, Cameron McKinnon, Becky Miller, John Blankenship, and all the Nurses, Doctors, and Staff of the Ardmore Veterans Home and the Healdton Mercy Hospital.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday March 16, 2012 at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
