Wilson - Funeral Services for Mr. Bennie Eugene "Sparky" Patrick, SR., 80, of Dillard are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday September 6, 2014 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. Don Clark officiating and Les Hacker assisting with the Eulogy. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park of Ardmore.
Sparky was born on December 21, 1933 at Lairdhill, TX to the late Mr. Leonard Patrick and Mrs. Ethel (Price) Patrick. He departed this life Wed. September 3, 2014 at Healdton.
Sparky was raised at Dillard attending school at Wilson. Following graduation from High School, Sparky moved to the Dallas area doing construction. After a brief stay he moved back to this area where he resided the rest of his life.
Sparky was employed with Daube Oil Company for almost 50 years, retiring in the early 90's. He and the former Ms. Melba Louise Bass were united in marriage on January 31, 1953 at Clemscott. They had two sons, Bennie Jr, and Roy.
Sparky enjoyed taking the kids fishing and camping. Later in life he enjoyed taking the grandkids fishing and camping. He piloted his own airplane for many years enjoying many trips all over and was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association.
He also enjoyed raising cattle and catfish. He had a vast knowledge of American History and was a true American who enjoyed teasing and having a good laugh. Melba preceded him in death on December 5, 2011. Sparky was a member of the Rexroat Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife Melba, also preceding him in death were his Parents, Leonard and Ethel Patrick; Brothers, Charles Lee Patrick, Jimmy Dale Patrick and Donal Ray Patrick.
Survivors include two Sons, Bennie Eugene Patrick, JR. and wife Debra of Ryan and Roy Patrick and wife Lori of Lone Grove; 3 Grandchildren, Shaun, Lindsay and Scott Patrick; and 1 Great Grandchild Deegan Patrick. Numerous other family and friends.
Casket Bearers are Dave Cormany, Dustin Cormany, David Cormany, Les Hacker, Ken Matthews and Bob Bass.
Honorary Bearers are Jerry Beavers, Bennie Cartwright and Chad Bettis.
