Wilson – Funeral Services for Belvia Gertrude (Cantwell) Stiles, 88, formerly of Wilson, are scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday February 25, 2010 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Rev. Don Clark officiating and Grandson Bryan Stiles providing the Eulogy. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson by her husband and children. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.


Belva was born May 12, 1921 in Wilson, to the late Mr. Noah Edwin Cantwell and Mrs. Gertrude Virginia (Cox) Cantwell. She departed this life Sunday February 21, 2010 at Frankston, TX.


Belva was married to Leonard Leon Stiles on Sept 5th 1937 in Ringling, OK. They had three children and all three attended school at Wilson. During WWII She and Leonard worked as welders in the Kaiser shipyard in California to support the war effort then returned to Wilson when Leonard was drafted into the Army. Belva worked many years in the local grocery stores and sold Avon products door to door to supplement the family income. In 1980, she and Leonard moved to a home in Ardmore, OK. Then at Leonard’s death on March 8th 1987, Belva moved to the villages, a senior citizens community. In December 2006, Due to failing health, she moved to Frankston health care center in Frankston, Texas for nursing care and to be near her son Charles.


In addition to her husband, also preceding her in death are her parents, her daughter Patricia Ann Stiles Price in 2001, Her son Lelean Leon Stiles in June 2003, Three brothers Eugene , Elmer, and Edward Cantwell and two sisters Lavinia Albin and Virginia Mallory.


She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Charles Ray and Karen Stiles of Palestine, Texas, a son-in-law, Lonnie Price of Wichita Falls, Texas, A sister Mildred Morris of Ardmore, and a brother and Sister-in-Law, M.L. “Buck” and Elaine Cantwell of Ringling. Other survivors include 10 Grandchildren; Belinda Price Roberts, Randy Lynn Price and Brent Ray and wife Kelly Price, Lori and Stacy Stiles , Tracy McNair and husband Rick, Bryan Craig Stiles and Wife Marci, Shelly Dawn Young and husband Norman, Brady Glover, Chase Glover and Wife Michelle. 15 great-grandchildren; Bryce and Taylor Stiles, Lacy Hendrix and husband Lance, Daniel, Ryan and Dillon Schiel, Keely McNair, Michael Stiles, Rylee Stiles, Ryan Singleton and wife Bonnie, Mitchell Singleton, Taylor Joe Roberts, Brenton Price, Keen and Carter Glover. 3 Great-great Grandchildren; Michael, Rylee, and Meadow Singleton and many Nieces and Nephews.


Casket Bearers will be her grandsons; Bryan Stiles, Randy Price, Brent Price and Brady Glover and Great Grandsons Ryan Singleton and Brenton Price.


Family Visitation will be on Wednesday February 24th from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson
