Barbara Janell (Lightsey) Hacker

 Funeral Services for Barbara Janell (Lightsey) Hacker, 90, of Wilson are scheduled at 2:00 PM Monday January 6, 2025, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kent Stewart officiating. Interment will be at Hewitt Cemetery.

Barbara was born Nov. 9, 1934, at Ardmore to the late Mr. Elma Henry “Jelly” Lightsey and Mrs. Mildred (Morgan) Lightsey.

Raised in Ardmore, Barbara graduated from Ardmore High School, where she set the foundation for a life characterized by love, hard work, and resilience. On December 27, 1953, she married Gilbert Hacker, and together they were blessed with three children: Wes, Les, and Scerita. As a devoted homemaker, Barbara created a warm and loving environment for her family, showcasing her talents as an excellent mother. In her pursuit of professional fulfillment, Barbara earned her LPN certification and embarked on a rewarding nursing career. She served several nursing homes and hospitals, where her compassionate nature and dedication to patient care left a lasting impact on many lives. Later in life, after ten years of employment, Barbara transitioned to a new role at Wal Mart as a cashier clerk, where her friendly demeanor endeared her to both customers and coworkers alike. In 1999, Barbara relocated to Kaufman, Texas, to be closer to her daughter, Scerita. In Kaufman, she became an active member of the Southside Baptist Church, where her faith and commitment to service continued to blossom. Barbara will be warmly remembered not only for her professional accomplishments but also for her exceptional skills as a seamstress and leather craftsman, along with her profound love of farm life.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother, Elma Franklin “Corky” Lightsey.

Survivors include her children, Wes Hacker and wife Gianna of Wilson, Les Hacker and wife Sharon of Lone Grove and Scerita Busby of Kaufman, TX; grandchildren, Danny Pickelsimer and wife Holly, Dustin Goode and wife Sarah, Donny Hacker, Angie Munholland and husband Greg, Heather Hacker and husband Dusty, Jason Klein and Dwain Bolton; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; 1 great great great grandchildren; numerous other family and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Donny Hacker, Greg Munholland, Owen Munholland, Joseph Munholland, Gabriel Hacker, Carter Hacker, Dusty Hacker, and Danny Pickelsimer.

Family visitation will be held from 12-2PM prior to the service on January 6, 2025.
