Ratliff City - Graveside Pavilion services are scheduled for Ms. Barbara Ann (Blackburn) Davis, 76, formerly of Ratliff City, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday Feb. 28, 2017 at the Ratliff City Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Monk Firestone officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.
Ms. Barbara Ann (Blackburn) Davis, 76 was born on Jan. 7, 1941 in Nashville, IL to the late Mr. Kenneth Carl "Pete" Blackburn and Mrs. Medrith Karon "Sis" (Smith) Blackburn. She departed this life Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017 at a healthcare facility in Lawton.
Barbara was initially raised in Southern Illinois where she and her sister, Nancy, learned alot about the outdoor life from their father. They moved to Texas before settling in Ratliff City, and Barbara attended school at Fox. She loved her high school years, and enjoyed being part of the Class of 1959. Barbara attended college studying nursing before moving to New Mexico, then Minnesota and Oregon before residing back in this area. She was mostly a devoted homemaker and mother to her three wonderful girls during this time. Living in Ratliff City she worked as a nurse at the Pauls Valley State School before becoming one of the first oil ladies of this area. Barbara worked within the oil Industry for Mobil for several years before retiring as one of the first of her kind in the oil field. During her retirement, she loved writing stories and adored her animals. She will be remembered for her faith in God, her generosity to others, her work ethics and her eternal kindness which she instilled in all of her daughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her children, Carol Womack and husband Scott of Haslet, TX, Lynda Mauldin and Kim Wyroski and husband Gary all of Lawton; sister, Nancy Singleterry of Healdton; grandchildren, Terah Montague, Kenny Mauldin, Peyton Mauldin, Kolbi Mauldin, Kali Robinson and Mason Robinson; great grandchildren, Madilyn, Chloe, Ashlee, Brynnlee and Melanie Montague, Brody and Embree Maudlin; niece, Vickie Jones and Nephew Rick Jones, both of Arizona; and her beloved dog Papi Davis of the home; numerous other family and friends.
Casket Bearers are the Grandchildren, Kenny Mauldin, Peyton Mauldin, Kolbi Mauldin, Kali Robinson, Mason Robinson and Brock Cowen.
Honorary Bearer will be Terah Montague
Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Monday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.
