Mrs. Avanell Cheryll (Eden) McLemore, age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23, 2025, in Healdton, Oklahoma. She was born on November 6, 1935, in Minco, Oklahoma, to the late Mr. Henry John Eden and Mrs. Lena Melissa (Paul) Eden.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Loco First Baptist Church, with Rev. Robert Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Addington Cemetery. The arrangements are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.
Avanell was raised in Binger, Lookeba, and Minco, where she completed her education, graduating from Minco High School. She furthered her education by attending University Women's College and the University of Central Oklahoma, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Avanell dedicated many years to the teaching profession, where she served honorably in Addington, Comanche, Loco, and Velma.
Avanell married the late Mr. Mark "PeeWee" McLemore after they met in Addington, tying the knot in Wichita Falls, Texas. She had a passion for gardening and found joy in flowers and birds.
Mrs. McLemore is preceded in death by her parents, her husband PeeWee, sisters Lesta and Bob Stuart, Ruth and Roland Kunkel, brother in law, Eldon Mozingo, and granddaughter Christy Hall.
She is survived by her daughters, Quintina "Gayle" Hall and her husband Keith, Regina "Carol" Alexander and her husband Ron, Clydene Williams and her husband Steve, and JoAnn Westbrook and her husband Don. Avanell's legacy continues through her grandchildren: Ryan and Juvy Hall, Katherine Alexander, Melissa Williams, Matthew Williams, Melanie Williams, Kira Westbrook, and Trista Westbrook; great-grandchildren Taylor Spurling, Hunter and Nachala Hall, Jeremiah and Kiersten Hall, Cody Hall, Caylee Hall, Samantha Hall, Gage Ramon, and Kade Ramon as well as her great great grandchildren, Allison Hall, Isla Hall, Beckett Hall, Aiden Barnell, She is also survived by her sister Eileen Mozingo, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers will include Keith Hall, Ron Alexander, Steve Williams, Don Westbrook, Ryan Hall, and Matthew Williams.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.
