Annie Laurie (Evans) Carroll
Ringling – Funeral services for Mrs. Annie L. (Evans) Carroll, 92, of Ringling will be at 2 PM, Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at The Christ Tabernacle Church in Marietta with Rev. Curt Green and Rev. Stephen Carroll officiating. Interment will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery in Ringling. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Ringling.
Annie was born June 19, 1917 at Grady, OK the 8th of 10 children to the late Mr. Charlie Evans and Mrs. Tiny (Horn) Evans. She departed this life Sunday, March 21, 2010 in Marietta, OK.
Annie was raised at Atlee, OK attending school there and later attended Ringling school. There was no church in the Atlee area and she looked forward to the brush arbor meetings conducted by Brother Terry Morris and it was at such a meeting at Cornish, Oklahoma that Annie made a confession of faith and was straightway baptized in Howard’s Lake in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin. This started her journey of more than sixty five years of living for Christ. Because of His amazing grace we can say “Oh grave where is your victory, Oh death where is your sting.” Annie was a devoted wife, a loving mother and fiercely protective of her grandchildren. Annie and Mr. Buddy Carroll were united in marriage July 27, 1940 and from this union 3 children were born. She was an avid quilter and loved to sing gospel music.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Buddy Carroll, an infant daughter, Deloris Carroll, 4 brothers, David, Eddie, Oscar and Fred Evans, 4 sisters, Ruby Hall, Lula Underwood, Ida Richardson and Myrtle Abshire and a son-in-law, Robert Randall Edwards.
Survivors include son Rev. Ronnie Carroll and wife Rosalee of Marietta, daughter, Martha Edwards of Ringling, a precious sister, Rosa Freeman of Healdton, 4 grandchildren, Rhonda Lumry, Stephen Carroll, Jason Carroll and Todd Edwards, 2 great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Caleb Carroll and many nieces and nephews.
