Services for Annabelle (Muller) Bates are scheduled for 3:00 P.M., Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Rev. Phillip Borntrager officiating and Zane Gray providing the Eulogy. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore.

Annabelle (Muller) Bates was born to the late Mr. Edwin Muller and Mrs. Cleo Muller at Wichita Falls, TX on May 18, 1948. She departed from this life on July 3, 2023, at the age of 75.

Annabelle was raised in the Wilson area and attended school at Rexroat and Wilson. She went on to further her education at both Murray State University and Oklahoma State University. Annabelle married her High School sweetheart, Dale Bates, on June 27, 1970, recently celebrating 53 years of marriage together. She was a devoted teacher as she taught school for over 40 years until her retirement from Wilson Public Schools. Annabelle enjoyed her students and loved watching them go on to do great things.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Edwin and Cleo Muller and her daughter, Kimberly Bates.

Annabelle is survived by her husband, Dale of the home; children, Michael Bates and wife Amy of Durant, Lori Herriott and husband Trey of Ardmore, and Jarrod Bates of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Kasun and Chance Herriott, Braden, Dylan, Connor, and Kynlee Bates; siblings, Richard Muller and wife Ning, Phillip Muller and wife Laverne, Joe Muller and wife Dana, Paul Muller and wife Roxie, Mary Tidwell and husband Rod and Mark Muller and wife Cindy; brother-in-law, Joe Bates and wife Paulette; numerous other family and a host of friends.

Casket bearers will be Michael Bates, Jarrod Bates, Kasun Herriott, Chance Herriott, Braden Bates, Dylan Bates, and Connor Bates.

Family visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. Friday evening at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson.
