Velma – Funeral services for Mrs. Anita G. Jones, 81, lifelong resident of the Velma area, are scheduled for 10 am on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at the Velma First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of the Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ratliff City.
Anita was born November 10, 1938 in Kermit, Texas to the late Mr. Eual Monroe Conditt Sr. and Mrs. Loetta Jo (Bland) Conditt. She departed this world on December 23, 2019 near Velma.
Anita’s family moved to Countyline, Ok in the late 1940’s where she began school. She married when she was 16 but graduated from Velma – Alma High school in 1955. She began work for the Stephens County Department of Human Services working there her entire adult life. She retired in 1996 after 38 years of service.
Anita enjoyed family and friends and going to church. Being very competitive, she enjoyed playing cards with both sisters and brother in law and friends. She loved photography and making photo albums of family. She and her husband traveled and represented the Duncan Farm Bureau across the country while he was on the Farm Bureau Board. They also enjoyed many events with their 6 children, 15 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her husband Kenneth “Skinny” Jones, her parents, sister Janet Wilson and brother in law Jerry Wilson.
Survivors include one sister Rita Bell of Velma, two brothers Eual Conditt Jr. and wife Paula of Burneyville and James Conditt and wife Paula of Athens, Texas; sons, Dusty Pruitt and wife Julie of Chickasha, Mickey Pruitt and wife Cheryl of Countyline, Kenney Jones of Loco; daughters Pam Smith and husband Dennis of Pruitt City, Cathy Wylie and Randy of Kingston, and Vickie Nicholas of Pruitt City; 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Casket bearers will be grandsons, Tyler Pruitt, Barkley Pruitt, Wesley Jones, Casey Jones, Drew Smith, and Chasen Bennett.
Honorary Bearers are Shane Nichols, Tyler Nichols, Josh Eastwood, Brandon Stewart, Jason Early, Jeremiah Early, Nathan Wylie, and Paxton Wylie.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Baptist Home for Girls 1109 Anthony Ln, Madill, OK 73446.
Family visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. December 27 at the funeral home in Ratliff City.
