Anita Jo (Beam) Watson, was born December 6, 1958, at Duncan, Ok, to the late Mr. Bobby Joe Beam and Mrs. Elsie Bernice (Null) Beam. She departed this life Monday, February 24, 2025 at Ardmore, OK.
Anita was raised in the Loco area completing her education at Velma High School, where she graduated with pride. Continuing her pursuit of knowledge and a desire to care for others, she attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where she studied nursing—a field that defined her compassionate spirit. For many years, Anita contributed to the workforce at Michelin, working diligently in the Bead area. Her commitment and hard work exemplified her character, earning her the respect of her colleagues and all who knew her. Anita was not only known for her professional life but also for her love of baseball, particularly her deep admiration for the Braves. She was a strong supporter of her grandchildren's activities, cherishing each moment she spent watching them grow and flourish in their pursuits. Anita was also a past member of the Midway Freewill Baptist Church, where she participated actively in community and spiritual activities, fostering connections and a sense of belonging among her fellow church members. Her legacy of love, dedication, and passion for family and community will be remembered fondly.
Preceding her in death are her parents; brother, James Beam; granddaughter, Avery Bivens.
Survivors include her significant other, Jon McCurdy of Ardmore; children, Amy Yadon and husband Todd of Bridge City, TX, Lacey Bivens and husband Andy of Healdton, and Billy Joe Watson of Ardmore; sister, Lisa Walters and husband Rick of Rush Springs; brother, Keith Beam and wife Lynne of Kingston; grandchildren, Cameron Yadon, Devon Bivens, Maddie Bivens, Kinsley Bivens, and Riley Bivens.
