Andy Jim Jopling

Leon - Graveside services for Mr. Andy Jim Jopling, 68, of Healdton are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, Oct. 17, 2016 at the Leon Cemetery with Bro. Chris Lindsey officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Mr. Andy Jim Jopling was born on Oct. 5, 1948 at Ardmore to the late Mr. Andy Gillespie and Mrs. Bettie Sue (Dollar) Jopling. He departed this life Wed. Oct. 12, 2016 at Oklahoma City.

Andy was raised in Graham attending school there graduating in 1966. He was soon drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. He served honorably for 2 years as an infantryman receiving 1 bronze service star and a purple heart.

Andy and the former Ms. Mona Tindall were united in marriage on Feb. 29, 1972 at Gainesville, TX. He was employed with Beetle Plastics at Gene Autry for 35 years and retired in May of 2010. They lived most of their years together residing at Ardmore, and for the last two years had been residents of Healdton. Mona preceded him in death on January 9, 2016. Andy enjoyed his time reading, watching television and enjoyed family get- together's. He was a past member of the Graham Assembly of God Church.

In addition to his wife, also preceding him in death is Parents and brother, Tony "Hoppy" Jopling.

Survivors include his daughter, Shelly Wingfield; son, Michael Thompson and granddaughters, Andie Wingfield and Stephanie Wingfield, all of Oklahoma City; sisters, Eddie Lou Hill and husband Benny of Clemscott, Lynda Caldwell and husband David and Betty Jo Jopling, all of Ardmore; brother in law, Charles Tindall and sisters in law, Fran Rickey, Jolene Jones, Rita Corley and Debbie Gilbert; numerous other family and friends.
