Amanda Renee Miller

Wilson - Funeral Services for Mrs. Amanda Renee (Croan) Miller, 49, of Ardmore is scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Wilson Assembly of God Church with Rev. Leo Potts officiating. Interment will follow at the Dixie Cemetery north of Ringling. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Renee was born on October 4, 1968 at Wynnewood to the late Mr. Jerry Dugan Croan and Mrs. Tressie May (Barnes) Croan. She departed this life on Monday, February 26, 2018 at her home in Ardmore.

Renee was raised at Wilson graduating high school here in 1986. She married Dale Thompson, Jr. and to this union they were blessed with three children, Amanda, Candis and Clay. Candis preceded her in death on August 2, 1989. Later in life she married James Miller on Dec. 30, 1993 at the Lake Murray Chapel. To this union they were blessed with a daughter Ashley.

Renee was a dedicated employee for several business of the area. She was employed at the Healdton Sonic for many years where she enjoyed being involved in the Healdton Chamber of Commerce and all the city activities.Renee was currently employed with the Chickasaw Nation as the Quality Assurance Manager of Bedre' Chocolate in Davis.

Renee always enjoyed volunteering and was very family oriented. She adored all of her family especially her grandchildren. She loved doing needle work and crocheting and was a member of the Faith Heritage Pentecostal Church of Lone Grove.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Dugan Croan and Eddie and Tressie Shaw; parents in law, Arlis and Mildred Miller; sister in law, Nancy Steudeman and nephews Alan Shaw and Chasen Tucker.

Survivors include her loving husband James Miller of the home; daughter Amanda Scott and husband Kenneth of Ringling; son Clay Thompson and wife Kimberly of Ringling; daughter Ashley Bowden and husband Paxton of Ardmore; sisters, Glenna Bray and Larry Smith of Dickson, Brenda Higgins of Wilson, Linda Melton and husband John of Fox and Pam Hays and husband Mark of Healdton; brothers, Billy Shaw of Wilson, David Shaw and wife Kelly of Joaquin, TX, and George Shaw and wife Bridgett of Davis; 9 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and other family.

Casket Bearers are Charles Horton, David Wells, David Cox, Johnny Turner, David Jackson and Steve Bellows.

Honorary bearers are Kenneth Scott, Jerry Walker, Kenny Walker, Rodney Gaither, Randy Gaither, Manuel Zabala and Jose Zabala.

A very special thank you to Cross Timbers Hospice for their kindfelt care and support.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Thursday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
