Alta Faye Cox

August 29, 1924 — November 10, 2013

Going Home services for Mrs. Alta Faye (Beavers) Cox, 89, of Ardmore are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wed. Nov. 13, 2013 at the CrystalRock Cathedral Church of Ardmore with Rev. H.H. Davis and Dr. Walt Spradling officiating. Interment will follow at the Oswalt Cemetery of Oswalt. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Faye was born into this life on August 29, 1924 at Courtney to the late Mr. Curtis Charles Beavers and Mrs. Alice (Young) Beavers. She went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday morning, Nov. 10, 2013 at Ardmore.

Faye was raised at Courtney attending school there. She married the late Mr. Keith “Jack” Cox on May 28, 1942 at Ardmore one week after they graduated High School. They were married over 60 years when he passed away on September 24, 2002. They were the parents of four children, Neil Cox (who preceded her in death on July 28, 2011) and wife Linda of Ardmore, Sharon Murphree and husband Ron of Poteau, Chris Cox and wife Kathy of Oswalt and Tonya Keeton and husband Gary of Ardmore.

They had 12 Grandchildren, Karen Pica and husband Joey, Tracy Cox and wife Lee, Todd Cox and wife Mandi, Lori Barnthouse, Trent Cox and wife Rachel, Autumn Clements and husband Jasper, Chelsi Rateliff and husband Trey, Cassiti Furman and husband Matt, Derringer Cox ,Laramie Keeton and wife Katey, Brent Murphree and wife Aimee and Kent Murphree and wife Sue; Also Great Grandchildren, Brayden Barnthouse, Isabella Pica, Brycen Cox, Nicolas Pica, Madison Cox, Taverly Cox, Kylie Cox, Jackson Keeton, Tyneson Cox, Graham Clements, Tripp Keeton, Jackson Murphree, Reed Murphree, Garette Murphree, Brooke Murphree, Brock Murphree, Chance Murphree and Mackenzie Murphree.

Her Parents Curtis and Alice (Young) Beavers, preceded her in death as well as her 1 brother, Charles Beavers who died on August 1, 2003.

Faye was a member of Lighthouse Assembly of God Church for many years and taught children’s church there most of those years. She also taught children’s church at CrystalRock Cathedral, Central Assembly of God and in her home at Gene Autry. She also conducted services at Elmbrook and Woodview Nursing Homes for 47 years.

Serving as Casket Bearers will be Tracy Cox, Todd Cox, Trent Cox, Derringer Cox, Laramie Keeton, Brayden Barnthouse, Brent Murphree, Kent Murphree, Jasper Clements, Matt Furman, Trey Rateliff, Joey Pica, and Gerald Beavers.

The family would like to express a very special thank you to Elmbrook Management and Staff for going above and beyond during Faye’s stay at the suites and also to Cross Timbers Hospice for their heartfelt devotion and care.

Memorials in memory of Faye may be made to any Christian Ministry Organization of choice.

Viewing will begin after 10 am to 7 pm Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the CrystalRock Cathedral Hearthroom and a family gathering and visitation from 5 pm to 7pm Tuesday evening also at CrystalRock.
