Ada Virginia Howard

Wilson- Ada Virginia “Jeanie” (Pelton) Howard, was born March 2, 1949 in Ardmore to the late Mr. Jim Pelton and Mrs. Pearlie Mae (Marr) Pelton. She departed this life Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Mercy Hospital of Ardmore at the age of 73 years, 10 months, and 29 days.

Jeanie was raised in Ardmore, moving to Wilson in 1977 with her five children. She was employed by Steele Grocery for many years and lastly for Dusty’s Convenient Store in Wilson. Jeanie was an excellent mother and homemaker. She loved to garden and was especially fond of her roses.

Jeanie is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorene, Bessie Faye, and Carol  Joyce; brother, Jim William and son, Jason Howard.

Survivors include Jeanie’s daughters, Melinda Kay Sanford and husband Steve of Henryetta, OK and Carol Ann Walkup of Oklahoma City, OK; sons, David Haskell Howard and wife Ellen of Wilson and Jim Oliver Howard also of Wilson; brother, Jim “Buno” Pelton and wife Alisha of Wichita Falls, TX; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.

Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Crematory at Ringling.
