Truecillah Pearl Adams

Wilson-Funeral Services for Truecillah “Mickie” Pearl (Brooks) Adams, 83, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 26, 2014 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson. With Bro. Josh Norton officiating and Michael King providing the Eulogy. Interment will follow at Lone Grove West Memorial Cemetery.


Truecillah Pearl “Mickie” (Brooks) Adams was born October 13, 1930 to Mr. Melvin Walter Brooks and Mrs. Ruby Virginia (Gardner) Brooks at White Deer, TX. She passed from this life Monday, September 22, 2014 at Hamilton, TX.


Mickie moved quite frequently as a child being raised primarily at Lamesa, TX. As a young lady she moved to Orr, Ok with her Uncle George and Aunt Sylvia Patty, where she soon met and later marry Mr. Gwen Smith of Ringling. To this union they had one daughter named Gwen. After just a few short years of marriage, Gwen tragically preceded her in death due to an Automobile accident on October 15, 1953 Mickie later met and married Mr. Jimmy Adams and to their union came two additional children named Dwayne and Sherry.


Mickie worked at Stromberg and Carlson and had several other occupations but primarily was a devout homemaker who loved to cook and was an excellent seamstress. She was a past member of Rexroat Baptist Church of Wilson and most recently enjoyed being a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Ardmore. Mickie loved to fish and being with her sister, Doris as well as other family and always enjoyed eating at the Grandy’s Restaurant. Her husband Mr. Jimmy Adams preceded her in death on July 27, 1991.


She is also preceded in death by her Parents, Melvin and Ruby Brooks; Sister, Helen Ward; Brothers, Doug Brooks and Frank Brooks.


Mickie is survived by her Two Daughters, Gwen Norton and husband Johnny of Wilson and Sherry Dietiker and husband Dude of Hamilton, TX; Son, Dwayne Adams of Murpfreesboro,TN; Sister, Doris Cutberth and husband, Kenneth of Ardmore: Grandchildren, Stephanie, Michael, Jeremy, Josh, Christy, Sarah, Cameron, Calia and Carina; 15 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Great Grandchildren; Numerous other Family and Friends.


Pallbearers are Johnny Norton, Jeremy Norton, Llew Brooks, Dennis Baker, Brian Baker and Michael King.


Honorary Bearers are Brady Baker, Bill Baker, Bradley Baker, Roy Ward and Gerald Ward.


Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Thursday, September 25 , 2014 at the Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
