Richard Roland Pass 82, of Comanche passed from this life Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Lawton, Oklahoma. Richard was born January 1, 1930 at Rexroat, Carter County, Oklahoma to Charles Coachworth Pass and Nellie Lucille Robinson.
Services are scheduled for Friday, November 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Comanche with Pastor Rick Forthman officiating. Interment will be at the Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson with Military Honors provided by the United States Navy. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Richard married Christine Tadlock on April 10, 1955 at the Methodist Church in Wilson, Oklahoma. They were married for 57 years. Richard attended Rexroat High School where he was a Golden Glove champion in boxing. He served in the Navy during the Korean War on the USS Brough -148 a destroyer escort. Richard work for Halliburton Services retiring after 35 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Comanche. He volunteered at the Stephens County Genealogy Society and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Richard coached several softball and baseball teams in Meridian and attended the many school activities of his children and grand children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lucille Pass, and three brothers, Nolan, Jerry, and infant Dan Pass.
Richard is survived by his wife Christine Pass of the home. His three daughters and two sons and their families, Christy and Danny Dumos, Velma, Oklahoma, Becky Lynn Sanders, Debbie and Rickey Morgan all of Duncan, and James Roland Pass and wife Melisa of Ryan, and Todd and Amy Pass of Bray, Oklahoma.Richard is also survived by his eleven grandchildren, Chad Dumos, Lyndal Morgan, Danielle Wilkerson, Kellie McGruder, Clay Dumos, Amanda and Shelby Sanders, Kiera Pass, Rylie, Morgan and Ryder Pass. Six great grandchildren, Shiloh and Saige Dumos, Ava McGruder and Charity Bartmess, Dallas and Shelby Landis. Other survivors are his brother, Charles Pass of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and his sister, Dathene Kasey of Norman.
