After serving again in the Korean War, Louis received his first teaching position at Comanche in 1952. They lived in Comanche until 1963 when they moved to the Fox, where Louis held a position at Fox Public Schools. They made their home in Fox raising their two children, Paula and Rodney.

Pauline was very active in the community being a member of the Healdton Municipal Hospital Auxiliary. She also sold AVON for many years and always a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Healdton.
