Wilson – Funeral Services for Force Master Chief Robert Ray “Bobby” Adams, 77, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Wilson with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Interment will follow at the Bomar Point Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Robert Ray Adams Force Master Chief of the world’s finest Navy passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 0:1300. He was born December 25, 1937 at Wilson, Oklahoma to Mr. Louie Vassil Adams and Mrs. Susie Alice (Griffin) Adams. Bobby never forgot where he came from, he was proud of Wilson and Oklahoma. Bobby proudly wore his 1956 Senior Ring throughout his career all over the world. He felt fortunate to have been the commitment speaker for the Wilson Graduating Class of 1987 and his name sake Rob. Bobby was active in all aspects of the Navy and was known for his integrity, his devotion to God, Country and Family.

He joined the service on 26 march 1957, and retired on October 1, 1989, with 32 years, 4 months and 8 days of service. Duty assignments; Recruit Training, San Diego, California; Class A Teleman School, San San Diego, California; Communications Technician A School (Communications), Imperial Beach, California, Guam; Marianna Islands; Sidi Yahia; Morocco; Kami Seya, Japan; CINCPAC/CINCPACFLT Hawaii; Pensacola, Florida; USS BONHOMME RICHARD(CVA-31); Naples, Italy; Naval security Group HQ’s; CINCPACFLT Hawaii; Navy Recruiting duty, Oklahoma City; Edzell Scotland; Training Air Wing Four, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Naval Security Group HQ’s, Washington D.C.

Highlights of his career were serving as airborne flag communicator for ADM Thomas Hayward at CINCPACFLT Hawaii; Command Master Chief at Edzell, Scotland with Captain’s like Ike Cole and Fred Demech; Command Master Chief of training Airwing Four, Corpus Christi, Tx with Captain Howard Young and as the fifth Force Master Chief of the Naval Security Group with RADM Don McDowell and RADM James McFarland.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Louie and Susie Adams Sister, Tommy Lou Idleman, and Brother Billy Gene Adams.

Bobby is survived by his Siblings, Jack Adams of Moore, OK, Dickie Adams and wife Mary of Wilson, Norma Rutledge and husband Rex of Wilson, Judy Glasco of Moore, Lynn Adams and wife, Mary of Nocona, TX; Sister-in Law, Joy Adams of Healdton; Numerous, Nieces and Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews, Great Great Nieces and Nephews as well as numerous other Family and Friends.

Pallbearers are Nephews and Great Nephews .

Honorary Pallbearers are Nieces, Great Nieces and Great Great Nieces and Nephews.

Family visitation will be Monday from 5-7 PM at the Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
