Mr. Bobby Lynn Pinkerton, of Lone Grove, departed this life on September 6, 2021 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 70 years, 3 months, and 9 days. Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 10, 2021 at New Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Lone Grove with Rev. David Gardner and Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Cremation services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
Bobby was born to the late Mr. Ford E. Pinkerton and Mrs. Ollie Faye (Dalrymple) Pinkerton on May 28, 1951 in Nashville, Arkansas.
Mr. Pinkerton was a lifelong resident of Lone Grove. He graduated with the Lone Grove Class of 1969. During high school he loved riding saddle broncs in rodeos and was a certified scuba diver. He first married Nelda Smith and to this union they had two daughters. He attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1974 and went on to attend the University of Oklahoma Law School where he obtained his Juris Doctorate in 1978. He met Betty (Scott) Pinkerton in college at Durant in 1973 and they were united in marriage on August 2, 1974 at Rattan, OK and together they have made their home in Lone Grove. Bobby opened his own law practice in Healdton in January of 1979 and was still practicing law. He was a member of the Oklahoma Cattlemens Association, Oklahoma Bar Association, Healdton Lions Club, and Ardmore Little Theatre. Bobby was an avid fan of Jeopardy and watching old westerns.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother in law, Dr. Larry Redden.
Mr. Pinkerton is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betty (Scott) Pinkerton of the home; children, Dana Taylor and husband Brent of Springer, Kristi Welch and husband Rodney of Lone Grove, Jason Pinkerton and wife Alanda of lone Grove, Amy Pinkerton-Crawley and husband Brandon of Ardmore; grandchildren, Cody, Hailee, Ashley, Laci, Delaney, McKinley, Robert, Samantha, Addison, Lillian, Kayla, and Conner; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Brenda Jordan and husband Russell of Dallas; sister in law, Peggy Redden of Tulsa; two nephews, Blake and David; other relatives and a host of friends.
