Services for Billy Wayne Pugh, 67, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2008, at the Church of God Fellowship in Ringling with the Rev. Leo Taylor, the Rev. Virgil Ridenour and the Rev. Ellen Abshire officiating. Interment will follow at the Petersburg Cemetery south of Ringling.



Born July 2, 1940, to Aubra Lee Pugh and Lydia Howell Pugh in Sweetwater, Texas, he died June 5, 2008 in Healdton. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lee Carrol Pugh.



He was raised in Sweetwater and later joined the Army National Guard, serving as a trainer until 1963. He worked as a truck driver for 25 years and later worked as an oilfield drilling bit consultant until he retired. He married Joy E. Turner June 2, 1999, in Sweetwater. The couple moved to Ringling in 2006. He loved his family and loved his God.



Survivors include his wife, of the home; a great-great-grandson, Dakota of the home; sons, Leslie and Steven Pugh, Aaron Austin and fiance’ Barbara Christie, and Albert Austin and wife Tara, all of Ringling; three sisters, Charlotte Raeinsburger and Sharon Butts, both of Sweetwater, and Beverly Kurby of Dallas; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.



Bearers will be Dewey Taylor, Jesse Taylor, Farlin Thomason, Gary Taylor, Tim Butcher and T.J. Ballard. Arrangements are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home.
