Allen R Pruett

Ardmore – Graveside Services for Mr. Allen R. Pruett, 78, of Bartlesville, OK and formally of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Friday, June 12, 2020 at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Fuller officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
Allen went peacefully to his Heavenly home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 9th, 2020 at 9:35 pm. He was born on January 14th, 1942 at Woodford, OK to Essie Allen Pruett and Leonard B. Pruett. Allen met his dad for the first time at the age of four when Leonard returned home from his service in the Army at the end of World War II. Allen began first grade at Dixon Public Schools in Dixon, OK. The family soon moved to Rexroat, OK where he attended Wheeler and Rexroat Schools. Rexroat consolidated with Wilson Public Schools in Wilson, OK. He graduated with the class of 1960 from Wilson Public Schools. Allen graduated from Southeastern College in Durant, OK with a B.S. in Mathematics, a B.S. in Physics, a B.S. in Education, and a minor in Chemistry. He completed his college work in 3 years and he soon began teaching junior high and high school in Elgin, OK.

On June 18, 1965 Allen married Miss Anna Lee Milam at First Baptist Church in Wilson, OK. They immediately moved to Bartlesville, OK where Allen began his career with Phillips 66 Petroleum Company. His positions included Supervising Systems Analyst, Technical Systems Specialist Mechanical Engineering Software, Supervisor Mechanical/Civil Engineering Programing, Technical Systems Specialist Mechanical Engineering Software in Corporate Engineering, and Section Supervisor CAD & Mechanical Engineering.

Allen retired from Phillips 66 in March 1999 and began teaching math, calculus, and computer science at Wesleyan Christian School. He also was a website developer for the Voice of the Martyrs.

Allen was a quiet gentle man who loved his wife, Anna Lee Pruett and two daughters, Michael-Ann Schrick and Allison Pruett. He cherished his two sisters, Betty Salsbury and Kathy Roberts and brothers-in-laws, Boyd Salsbury and Gary Roberts. As a teenager he relished his time riding horses with his cousins, Marshall and Larry Mitchell. He enjoyed making trips and visiting with Steve and Nancy Milam and Meredith, Paul, and Ryland Hopkins. His hobby was sand bass fishing. He enjoyed reading his Bible and large print Readers Digest. His favorite songs were “Victory in Jesus” and “Trust and Obey”. He will be missed by those who knew this quiet gentle man.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Anna Lee Pruett of Bartlesville, OK and two daughters Michael-Ann and Chad Schrick of Broken Arrow, OK and Allison Pruett of Bartlesville, OK and grandsons Noah Lee Schrick of Tulsa, OK, Benjamin Allen Schrick and Caleb Michael Schrick of Broken Arrow, OK.He is also survived by two sisters Betty and Boyd Salsbury of Wilson, OK and Kathy and Gary Roberts of Magnolia, TX and various cousins. He is survived by nieces and nephews and great nephews and nieces.
