Velma – Funeral services for Mrs. Addie Marie (Files) Smith, 62, of Velma are scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at the Velma Assembly of God Church with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at Alma Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Marie was born November 16, 1950 at Ardmore to the late Mr. Sammie Lee Files and Mrs. Mildred Lucille (Harris) Files. She departed this life Wed. December 26, 2012 at a hospital in Oklahoma City.

Marie moved to Velma at the age of 3 from Lone Grove. She attended school at Velma and graduated from High School in 1968. She and Mr. Kenneth Junior Smith were united in marriage on October 28, 1972 at Velma. They continued to make their home in Velma, where Marie worked as an Oilfield Dispatcher for Sonny’s Tank Truck Service. Junior preceded her in death on October 22, 2007. Marie enjoyed working in her yard and being with her grand babies. She was of the Assembly of God Faith.

Also preceding her in death is her Parents; Sisters, Frieda Files and Earline Faye Parker.

Survivors include her Daughter, Sammie Perry and husband Will of Cashion; Son, Jeremy Smith and wife Kelli of Velma; Brothers, Hershell Files and wife Beth and Harley Files and wife Myrna, both of Velma; 4 Sisters, Marjorie Kennedy and husband Harry of Duncan, Lois Galaz and husband Al, Teresa Gwaltney, all of Harker Heights, TX, and Lisa Taylor and husband Wayne of Glen Pool, OK. 2 Grandchildren, Colt and Gunnar. Numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers are Randall Gill, Jim Sullivan, Michael Bruce, Glenn Ray Hurst, Greg Files and Shannon Files.

Honorary Bearers are Hershell Files, Harley Files, Nub Sullivan, Dale Tivis, and Skeet Chapman.

Family visitation will be from 3 to 5 pm Sunday afternoon at the funeral home of Ratliff City.
